The Mamas and Papas Skate is an innovatively designed 3 in 1 pushchair, which can also be used as a pram and a baby travel system.
As the seat has a lie flat position and there is a carry cot included,
the pushchair is suitable from birth. The chassis itself weighs 8.5kg
and 11kg with the seat unit attached.
Perhaps the most innovative part of the Mamas and Papas Skate
design is the ability to slide the seat unit and carry cot up and down
the chassis, offering you the ability to bring your baby closer to you.
This combined with the ability to switch the seat between a forward and
rear facing gives you the flexibility to have you child in the best
position to suit you and them at all times.
The seat itself can
be laid flat for newborns, but can then be tilted forward and used in 3
different positions to suit your child’s mood on that day. As well as
the seat being able to tilt into 3 positions the backrest can also be
reclined offering even more positions and options.
The comfort
of the ride is enhanced by the individual wheel suspension and the rear
shock absorbing pneumatic tyres. Pushing the Mamas and Papas Skate is
made easier by the ability to lock the front feels if required and the
soft grip adjustable handlebars, which is particularly good for parents
who maybe of differing heights.
Folding the unit can be
achieved in two quick steps, the seat unit can be left on or if a more
compact fold is required, it can be removed. Further more if storage is
an issue the wheels can be quickly released
The Mamas and Papas Skate
comes with a number of accessories including a front bumper bar, which
has a gate opening mechanism to make access easier, there is a shopping
basket, rain cover, an adjustable hood which can be extended for the
carry cot and an apron.
As well as being simply being a
pushchair the Skate includes a carrycot which can be used from birth
and overnight sleeping. It can also be combined with either the Mamas and Papas Cybex Aton car seat or the Mamas and Papas Primo Viaggio car seat (with the suitable adaptors) to make the unit into a baby travel system.
What is good about the Mamas and Papas Skate

Overall Impression
The Mamas and Papas Skate
is a good innovative 3 in 1 pushchair. The ability to move the seat and
carrycot up and down the chassis together with the choice of forward
and rear facing seat is something you won’t find on many pushchairs. It
is a little on the expensive side but you are getting the carry cot
included so whether or not you actually need a carrycot is something
which should be taken into consideration.
