The Chicco Skip
is a contemporary lightweight stroller which is suitable for children
of 6 months and over and will last until they are approximately 3 years
of age. It weighs just 6.2kg making it one of the lightest pushchair of
its type on the market.
One of the first things you’ll notice with a Chicco Skip
stroller is how easy it is to push and its good manoeuvrability. As
light weight pushchairs go it also provides quite a smooth ride over
varying types of terrain which is helped by the ability to fix the
front swivel wheels when required.
The well padded seat on the Chicco Skip
stroller provides your child with plenty of room and has a backrest
which can be reclined into a number of different positions. The recline
mechanism is easy to use and can be operated with a single hand. From a
safety point of view the pushchair comes with the standard 5 point
safety harness.
The Skip is not only manoeuvrable but is also comfortable and easy to
push. The handle is at a good height, slightly higher than similar
pushchairs and is well padded.
The folding mechanism does take a little getting used to but when it is
folded it can be left freestanding if you so wish. A carry handle is
provided to make transporting the pushchair that bit easier.
In addition to the features already mention the Skip also comes with a
number of accessories, these include a shopping basket for extra
storage, a detachable folding hood and a rain cover.
What is good about the Chicco Skip stroller
- It is lightweight and very easy to push and manoeuvre
- It provides and reasonably smooth ride over most types of surface.
- It provides a comfortable environment for its passenger
- The price, you can get one for less than £60
And what could be better
- The folding mechanism takes some getting use to
- The shopping basket is small
- The handles can’t be adjusted
- Not very compact when folded
Overall Impression
The Chicco Skip
stroller is an excellent value for money pushchair. It is very
lightweight whilst still providing your child with a good level of
comfort and quite surprisingly for a stroller of this type it gives a
reasonably smooth ride across a variety of terrains. The only real
downside is the folding mechanism which takes a little time to master
and when folded isn’t as compact as you might expect. Overall
a good value pushchair.
