The
Bugaboo
Cameleon
replaced Bugaboo’s frog stroller and has a number of features
and
enhancements which promise to make it even more popular than its
predecessor. It is suitable from birth up to 17kg and includes a
carrycot with an Aerosleep® mattress which can be used
separately
to the pushchair for overnight sleeping. Together with the carry cot
and the addition of the Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix car seat, the Cameleon can
be made into a 3 in 1 travel system. However, you should check whether
the required car seat adaptors have been included as they may need to
be purchased separately.
The Bugaboo Cameleon
adapts to
the needs of you and your child in almost any environment. The
pushchair is extremely lightweight, weighing no more than 9kg including
the seat unit, has an aluminium chassis with water proof fabric. An
extra smooth ride is provided by an adjustable suspension which is
springy enough to iron out most terrains and the front wheels are 360
degree rotational allowing for one handed steering. The seat itself has
3 different recline positions via a tilt mechanism.
A complaint with some Bugaboo strollers is the lack of adjustable
handlebars, well there’s no need to worry here as the
Cameleon
handlebar is fully adjustable between 97– 113cm’s.
The
handlebar can also be reversed for city strolling and rough terrain use.
The Cameleon is fully customizable with a range of over 30 colour
combinations allowing you to personalise your pushchair to your own
taste. As well as a variety of tailored fabrics you can also choose
from different coloured base units and carry cots.
In addition to the features already mentioned the Cameleon comes with a
sun canopy, underseat bag, mosquito net and rain cover.
What we like about the Bugaboo
Cameleon
•
Its very stylish
• Lightweight and very easy to
steer
• The opportunity to customise
is great
• The adjustable handlebars is
an improved feature against over Bugaboo strollers
• The larger seat provides extra
comfort
• They can fetch a decent price
on the second hand market
And what could be better
• Price, it’s at the
top end of Bugaboos range costing £700+
• Difficult to access the
shopping basket in pram mode
• Can be difficult to fold until
you get the right technique, its well worth having a few practices
• The fleece rather than fabric,
as we quite liked the fabric.
Overall
Impression
If you are looking for a lightweight and versatile travel system then
the Bugaboo Cameleon
is one of the best on the market. It maybe expensive but you gets what
you pay for in this world and this pushchair will provide years of
comfort and joy for your little one. If you can afford it then
it’s definitely worth consideration.
