The Mamas and Papas Primo Viaggio car seat is
a group 0 seat making it suitable from birth up until the child weighs
approx 13kg (around 12 months of age). The seat can be used as a car
seat or a rocking/stationary low chair. It can also be incorporated as
part of a baby travel system set up and is compatible with a number of models in the Mamas and Papas pushchair range, including the Mamas and Papas Luna and the Skate
There are three ways of installing the Mamas and Papas Primo Viaggio into
the car. The seat is compatible with the Primo Viaggio IP Isofix base
which it can be simply clicked onto to make it secure. As well as the
Isofix base it is also compatible with the Surefix base, which is
secure via the cars own seat belt. As these two basis need to be bought
separately, you may wish to consider the third option which is to
simply use the cars own seat belt to secure the seat.
The seat itself is spacious and deep winged which provides a
comfortable environment for its occupant with the luxurious padded seat
and ergonomic backrest simply adding to this level of comfort. As your
child grows the seat pads can be removed to create more space
The Mamas and Papas Primo Viaggio has
a strong seat structure and the deep sided support provides extra side
impact protection. The 5 point safety harness has five different
heights positions, as does the headrest, to ensure as your baby grows
they are always set to the optimum position and there is no need to
constantly be re-routing the belt. The carry handle itself also acts as
an anti rotation device providing your baby with even more protection.
The seat also comes with a large adjustable hood that can be quickly and easily removed
What is good about the Mamas and Papas Primo Viaggio car seat

And what could be better
- The weight, as group 0 seats go this is heavy at 4.5kg
- Both types of base need to be purchased separately
Overall Impression
The Mamas and Papas Primo Viaggio
is a good value for money car seat, if somewhat on the heavy side. It
is stylish and provides a good level of comfort for your baby.
It’s a shame the base isn’t included but that is one of the
few downsides. Overall a good car seat if a little heavy.
