The
Britax
First Class Plus is both a group 0 and 1 car seat. It is
suitable from birth and can be fixed in a rearward facing position.
Once your child can sit up unaided (from approx 9 months) the seat can
be switched to forward facing when it becomes a group 1 seat and is
suitable up until the child is approx 4 years of age. The seat itself
weighs 7.5kg.
When fixed in the rear facing position the seat has an extended recline
position which creates a more natural sleeping position for your baby,
which is further enhanced by the newborn support pillow which comes
with the seat.
The Britax First Class
Plus includes the Click and safe audible harness mechanism
which is designed to help you ensure that your child is correctly
secured into the seat and getting your child in and out of the seat is
helped by the harness retainers.
The seat is fixed into the car via the cars own 3 point safety belt
when both forward and rear facing and is fastened into place by a
spring loaded locking mechanism. When the seat is facing forward you
have the choice of 2 seat belt routing options to secure the seat. The
5 point safety harness can be quickly adjusted with just the one pull
and the deep softly padded side wings provide further protection. The Britax First Class Plus
also has a unique pitch control system which reduces forward movement
in the event of any accident.
When the seat is facing forward you have the choice of 5 recline
positions to suit your child’s mood and it can be adjusted
without having to disturb its occupant. The cover is softly padded and
performance chest pads are included for additional comfort, the cover
is quick to remove and is also washable.

Overall
Impression
The Britax First Class
Plus is an excellent value for money car seat offering not
only luxurious comfort but also the ability to use the seat as both a
group 0 and 1 seat providing a suitable car seat from birth up until
the age of 4. The seat maybe heavier than a normal baby carrier,
however as long as you don’t intend moving it from car to car
this shouldn’t be an issue and what this weight does give is
more comfort and increased safety features over a standard group 0
seat. Overall this a very comfortable and good value for money car seat
